I painted this picture to show how western objects have been used bywomen in my community. One such object is the bra, and the Playtex‘Cross Your Heart’ bra. This picture symbolises how many elder women throughoutcommunities’ strip down to their skirts and bra to walk through the bushto find food, and maintain Country, for the benefit of future generations.I painted an elder woman gesturing upward and with her body springingfrom a Kurrajong tree, as a symbol of her being a part of nature.
