Curatorial insightTilled Tali has a luminous and intricate complexity which vibrates in the warm reds, oranges and yellows that have become the artists’ signature. This work has a spontaneity and rhythm with brush marks that seem to ‘carve’ right into the canvas. It resonates with the power of place and pride in country that Nampitjin has had strong connections to, and responsibility for, throughout her lifetime. The passion for cultural maintenance and the desire to paint the narratives of her ancestors in country is obvious in the elegant and confident strokes she places on the canvas. (AGWA 2010)
