Curatorial insightIn contrast to the minimal tonal paintings of many works from the Western Desert, Anmanari Brown revels in colour. Pale, icy blues provide moments of calm in the tempestuous surrounding areas of magentas and orange. Icing pinks jostle with lime-green and black. Tiny circles of blue draw the viewer's eye down towards the bottom left corner, representing the marks left by the seven sisters as they were being chased by Kulakula (Larrikin Man Nyiru), who can still be seen travelling across the sky at night.
