Artist statement, c.2004Jirrgan the boss for that country. That's the dreamtime from country right across Australia. Kangaroo Dreaming come from across Kimberley and even go to Tasmania. Early days people on visit teach us so we know where the Dreamtime gone. Used to bring stories from other country, just like gardiya (whitefellas) think Jesus bin make the world. In Australia, well, that one Dreamtime. Make we old fellas so we can read 'em all the way. That's the school bla melabut (for us fellas), no gardiya. Goondarringnarrin, good country, my country.
