Curatorial insightBritten was one of the original Warmun (Turkey Creek) artists who started painting in 1981-84 during the rise of this innovative Kimberley art movement. This painting was inspired by a visit the artist paid to the Bungle Bungle hills, to which he has direct ceremonial and land ownership/caretaker links. Its direct and powerful addressing of the elemental forms is indicative of deep emotional and spiritual associations between the artist and his country.
