Curatorial insightIn Dreamtime possum ancestors and the sacred kangaroo, the possum tracks are shown by the vertical lines and toe symbols on either side. Around the central area are rows of feet, possibly those of the Kangaroo Ancestral Being. Small clusters of yellow-flowering bushes are painted around the borders. This is one of the first large-scale paintings made at Papunya, and it was part of the Rothmans Foundation Collection presented to the Gallery in 1989.
