Artist statementWhen people come to the waterhole, the snake comes to see what people come. When people first come to this place, they take mud and rub it all over their bodies. After that they become friendly with the water snake. The snake at Japingka knows everything that goes on here. (O'Ferrall, Jimmy Pike - Desert Designs, 1995)
